Ryder has really developed an interest in his hands lately. When he is playing in his bouncy chair he grabs and bats at his toys, holds onto the bar that holds the toys, and pulls on his bib. He's also started holding onto my shirt while he is nursing and wiggles his little hands around the whole time. He likes to have someone hold his hand but sometimes he holds his own to comfort himself!
He's also been trying to suck his thumb since day one and he is finally getting enough control to get it in there. Sometimes it's his fingers and occasionally his whole fist! Now we are working on helping him not gag himself. He gets overzealous and shoves his fingers down his throat... oops!
We know it's too soon for him to be talking or saying actual words, but sometimes it totally sounds like he is trying to say words. Jonathan and I have fun pretending that he is responding to us. One of his favorite things to do is lay in bed with us and talk to us. Last night he was talking up a storm! Such a vocal little guy, he has fun telling us stories. :)
Watching him develop is so incredible. It's amazing how fast things change, and even though Jonathan and I have both had child development courses we are still amazed! It's definitely different when it's your own child and you see them everyday.
