- Ryder is IN LOVE with the movie Alvin and the Chipmunks. He hasn't shown any interest in TV, and we don't encourage him to watch it/we don't watch that much, and one day a commercial came on for the Chipmunks and he was glued to the TV. So for Christmas he got the first movie, Alvin and the Chipmunks. He has wanted to watch it every day, some days more than once. While we have all been super sick we have indulged him, it could be super interesting to stop this once we are all healthy.
- Doesn't want to sleep in his crib anymore. Ever since being sick with the blood infection his sleep has been even more terrible than before. So now he won't even sleep in his crib for naps or for the beginning of the night.... pretty soon operation "Get Ryder In His Crib" will be in full effect. (He has now started napping and sleeping the first few hours of the night in his crib)
- He has always been attached to Stinky (his giraffe) but has become even more attached. He was at Grandma Twigg's house and saw a picture of him on her computer. He started crying and trying to find him. That's been interesting.
- He throws things, a lot. Everything he can get his hands on he throws, especially if he is mad/upset about something.
- He likes to make mountains out of his toys. He will literally make a huge pile of all his toys, books, and anything else in the surrounding area.
- Ryder got a little play tent from Grandma and Grandpa Twigg for Christmas and he puts all his cars and Tonka trucks in it like it's a garage.
- Loves the books about Tractor Mac.
- Is definitely starting the "Terrible Two's." He is very opinionated and let's you know what he wants/doesn't want. He can't talk very much yet so I think he gets frustrated when he can't tell us what he needs/wants. This frustration sometimes means he throws himself on the floor crying. I find that funny and have a hard time not laughing as I ignore him and walk away.
- He says a lot of words, especially when we ask him to. Some new words and phrases (which mostly just sound similar to what it really is) include: I love you, thank you, please, elk, kitty, there he/she/it is, green, blue, yellow, red, two (and some other numbers that are harder to understand), Stinky (as in the giraffe), and hey (as in, don't do that!).
- Ryder lines up all his little cars/trucks and then throws his hands up in the air and exclaims, "yay!"
- He likes to "shoot" elk and/or ducks with his play guns. A hunter in the making!
- Gets going really fast on his ride-on cars then picks his legs up and coasts down the floor.
Ryder reading!
